Let me explain what that means, in simple terms 100% of the shares are now held in trust for the benefit of its employees.
Like everybody the time comes to retire (but I am not there yet), however I needed to consider the shape of the business in the future and not a week went by that I did not receive an email from potential buyers!
From my research the potential buyers may increase client charges, maybe move the office to Leeds or Manchester, and then give the staff the chance to move as well or even leave the business. That really did not sit well with me and went against everything I have worked for over the last 25 years.
However, I was keen to secure the future of the business and in reverse of the above, I wanted the business to control the client charges, I wanted to stay in Wakefield, and I wanted to reward the staff who have supported me in the past, I will of course want an exit from the business at some point but not just yet.
The Employee Ownership Trust allowed me to do all that, as such after a lengthy legal process I am delighted to announce that this is now in place!
So Tony Revans Financial Planning (EOT) Ltd now owns the shares of Tony Revans Financial Planning 2000 Ltd for the benefit of its employees.
